September 5, 2026 — Sri Lanka
After weeks of prayer, planning, and preparation, Seventh-day Adventists from across Sri Lanka gathered on September 5 for the ONE VOICE 27 Launching Sabbath—a special day of worship, fellowship, inspiration, and commitment to the mission of reaching others for Christ.
Approximately 1,600 people, including nearly 400 children, came together from different parts of the island to worship and praise God as one united family. The gathering reflected the spirit of ONE VOICE 27: one church, one mission, and one voice proclaiming the love of Jesus.
The day began with a beautiful and meaningful Sabbath School program, creating an atmosphere of worship and spiritual reflection. During the program, a survey was also conducted to understand the commitment and readiness of members as the church looks toward the 2027 harvest emphasis.
The divine service became the spiritual highlight of the day. Pastor Kevin, Youth Director of the North Asia-Pacific Division, delivered a powerful and inspiring sermon. His message challenged the congregation to personally commit themselves to becoming part of the ONE VOICE 27 movement.
His appeal centered on the words, “Here I am, Lord. Send me.” The call was not simply to attend a program but to become personally involved in God's mission.
Members across Sri Lanka responded to the appeal with enthusiasm and commitment.
As part of that commitment, members pledged to bring at least one person to Christ during the 2027 harvest season. This commitment represented a powerful expression of faith and a desire to see families, friends, young people, and communities experience a personal relationship with Jesus.
Following the sermon, a Commissioning Ceremony was held to introduce the practical ways members could participate in ONE VOICE 27.
Pastor Hyosu Jung, President of the Ceylon Mission, encouraged members to pray daily for the people they hope to reach for Christ. He also invited churches across the country to join the nationwide prayer gathering every Wednesday at 8:00 p.m.
He further encouraged members to study The Desire of Ages and Bible prophecy, and to take part in media ministry, small-group activities, and personal evangelism.
At the conclusion of the Commissioning Ceremony, Pastor Jung officially declared the launch of ONE VOICE 27 in Sri Lanka.
Following lunch, participants had the opportunity to visit 11 specially prepared booths. Each booth focused on different aspects of ONE VOICE 27 and provided practical, creative, and inspiring ways for members to understand and participate in the mission. Many participants expressed that the booths gave them fresh ideas and renewed enthusiasm for personal evangelism and outreach.
The day concluded with a special program of testimonies and music. Stories of faith, personal experiences, and songs of praise created an atmosphere of celebration and encouragement. Participants were reminded that the mission of the church is not only a collective responsibility but also a personal calling.
The ONE VOICE 27 Launching Sabbath left many participants inspired, encouraged, and spiritually renewed. For some, it was a reminder to strengthen their personal relationship with God; for others, it was a renewed challenge to use their gifts, talents, time, and influence in God's service.
As Sri Lanka looks toward the harvest season of 2027, the message of the day remains clear: God is calling His people to stand together, serve together, and speak with one voice.
The journey has begun. The commitment has been made. And the prayer of many hearts across Sri Lanka is simple:
“Here I am, Lord. Send me.”
